The participation in the Positive Incentives project and the case study presented at COP 16 in Colombia stems from the collaboration between private organizations from Mexico, Costa Rica, and the NGO BPM. Its objective is to address the growing importance of biodiversity across various sectors, especially in the real estate sector, where there are still many uncertainties about how to effectively implement actions for its protection. Additionally, it aims to present a case study outlining the steps to begin identifying Dependencies, Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities related to biodiversity.
To meet this need, PIIMA, together with Ámbito Arquitectura and BPM, developed a product called the Biodiversity Toolkit. This document serves as a guide for companies in the real estate sector and is designed to align with international frameworks, standards, and certifications such as GRI, TNFD, CDP, GRESB, and LEED, aiming to generate a positive impact on biodiversity.
